Discovering traditions in the Bolognese Apennines
In the Bolognese Apennines there are places that preserve precious elements, traces of a past hidden among the images of art and history. Our project moves in this direction, between historical investigation, iconographic, literary and artistic itinerary to revive the traditions of the Apennines through events that you will find below.

Our texts at the 2024 International Book Fair Presentation of "The Twenty-Third Arcana" curated by Alessandra Atti

The Weird Sisters or the Three Witches by Johann Heinrich Füssli, 1783
Wood engraving from the Compendium Maleficarum by Francesco Maria Guaccio, 1608
The meeting, held in dialogue with Valentina Furian, tells the magical stories of women between tradition and myth: the alchemist, the herbalist, the healer, the sorceress, the midwife, the pythia, the goddess, the priestess... all facets of the feminine. And also a few witches, who appear from the past.

Who says that Piacenza cards can only be used to play briscola or tresette? They can be much more; their arcane world reveals hidden meanings that can provide useful insights for our lives. Perhaps they do not contain the same wisdom as tarot cards, but playing cards are older and perhaps were the first to enjoy the privilege of telling omens to those who consulted them.

KARMA is a Sanskrit term that indicates a principle of cause and effect, but also a psychological discovery of one's shadow side. Being aware of it means better understanding one's strengths and the knots to be faced. The purpose of the book is to recognize this common thread with past lives through the Tarot. Each card will be analyzed not only for its traditional value, but above all as a symbolic matrix, in order to broaden its vision and use. There are some reading spreads with related commentary, so as to get to know the Tarot from this particular perspective.

These 22 Major Arcana represent portals to be progressively crossed - as confirmed by the very shape of the card itself - and to do so it is necessary to strip away what we know, to enter the vibration of the feminine which makes matter malleable to change.
Each card shows a scenario in which various psychic and soul familiars live, understood as inseparable faculties of this journey.
In the shop on our website, it is possible to purchase the Tarot deck.
Octavia Monaco presents at the Nelumbo Gallery in Bologna the original works from which the eponymous Tarot deck was edited.

This Tarot deck is dedicated to the feminine as a model of inclusivity, of non-separation. The intent is to enter the sacred, that is, into that space where all patterns exchange roles and transfigure every particle.

A program full of surprises! In addition to the visit to the Tarot Museum... conferences, poetry readings, performances, impromptu exhibitions and much more. When art meets culture...

Art - Performances - Conferences - Guided tours at the Museum...
and lots of conviviality

Currently, many historians recognized at the academic level as leading experts on the subject attribute the origin of tarot cards to the city of Bologna. For this reason, the publishers felt the need to publish this volume which, in an exhaustive manner and through largely unpublished documents, presents the close relationship that links these cards to Bologna. Tarot cards exert a remarkable attraction worldwide, for the art with which they have been and continue to be created, for their philosophical content, as well as their literary, psychological, and anthropological aspects. A cultural phenomenon that spread from Bologna to the world and for which there is a felt need for the world to know about.

For years, together with the US correspondent Arnell Ando, Tarot Travel Guide of Italy, a magical Italian tour has been organized, attended by artists, scholars, and tarot collectors from all over the world. In a couple of weeks, participants visit the Italian places where tarot has left its marks, from Bologna to Ferrara; from Milan to the Tarot Garden by Niki de St Phalle in Capalbio, as well as Rimini, Siena, Varese, Clusone, and Bergamo, in order to better understand the Italian artistic heritage in this field.
