6. BROWSING DATA AND COOKIES
6.1 Browsing data
The IT systems responsible for the operation of the Site acquire, during their normal operation, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols (for example, IP addresses of the devices used by users, the time of the request, and other parameters related to the user's operating system). This information is not collected to be associated with identified individuals, but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified. This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the Site and to check its proper functioning and is deleted immediately after processing. Such data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of possible computer crimes against the Data Controller, its successors, or third parties.
6.2 Cookie
a. What are cookies
Cookies are small strings of text (letters and/or numbers) that websites visited by the user send to their device (usually to the browser), where they are stored to be sent back to the same sites during the user's next visit.
While browsing a website, the user may also receive cookies on their device (pc, smartphone, tablet) that are sent by sites or web servers different from the one they are visiting (so-called "third parties"), where certain elements (such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the Site being visited may reside.
It is possible to change the cookie settings at any time. Below you will find more information about the cookies used by the Site and how to manage the related settings.
b. Regulatory references
This Cookie Policy is drafted in compliance with the provision of the Privacy Guarantor of May 8, 2014 "Identification of simplified procedures for the information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies" (Published in the Official Gazette No. 126 of June 3, 2014), which established the obligation to obtain the prior and informed consent of users for the installation of cookies used for purposes other than purely technical ones (see art. 1, paragraph 5, letter a), of Legislative Decree May 28, 2012, No. 69, which amended art. 122 of the Code).
c. Types of cookies
The aforementioned provision has identified different types of Cookies:
First-party cookies if set directly by the visited site;
Third-party cookies if installed on the user's device by another site;
Technical cookies: they are aimed at maintaining proper navigation functionality or increasing the features or performance of the site;
Technical cookies in turn are divided into:
Browsing or session cookies: ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or log in to access reserved areas). Disabling them may cause malfunctions of the Site. These cookies are not stored persistently on the user's computer and disappear when the browser is closed;
Functionality cookies: upon express request, they allow the User to be recognized on subsequent visits so that they do not have to enter their data each time. They allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided. Although not essential for the operation of the Site, they improve the quality and browsing experience;
Analytics Cookies: they are assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself.
Profiling cookies: these are aimed at creating user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web. Due to the particular intrusiveness that such devices can have on users' private sphere, European and Italian regulations require that the user be adequately informed about their use and thus express valid consent.
d. The Site uses the following technical cookies
Pursuant to Article 122 of the Privacy Code and the Provision of the Data Protection Authority of May 8, 2014, no consent is required from the user for "first-party" technical cookies.
Our Site uses first-party Technical Cookies for navigation and functionality in order to ensure and facilitate browsing and use of the website and to collect information, in aggregate form, about visits to the Site as well as to allow the use of various essential functions of the Site such as, by way of example but not limited to:
- add a product to the cart
- place an order and fulfill it
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the Site and are used to manage access to reserved functions. The duration of the cookies is strictly limited to the working session. Disabling them would compromise the use of accessible services.

Mutus Liber has no access to or control over third-party cookies, therefore declines any responsibility and invites users to review the individual privacy policies used by third-party sites, as also described in points e.; f.; g. below.
