Exhibition TAROT ART AND MAGIC

From June to September 2022, the Tarot Museum is adorned with art with banners hanging on its exterior. The 22 major arcana were created by as many different artists on the occasion of the third edition of the Muri di Versi festival (May 2018) in the social street of via Fondazza (Bologna). Printed on nautical canvas in large dimensions (220 x 150), they were first exhibited right along the street, then on other occasions, for example in the inner courtyard of the esoteric bookshop Ibis and at the windows of the very central De Amicis school in Bologna. Being the result of the work of many different authors, they present an interesting variety of styles and interpretations.

During the summer, 4 evenings from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm with a visit to the Museum and performances by the artistic group of Giovanni Monti. (you can find them here www.bolognamagica.com)

Currently, many of the historians recognized at the academic level as leading experts on the subject attribute the origin of tarot cards to the city of Bologna. For this reason, the publishers felt the need to publish this volume which, in an exhaustive manner and through largely unpublished documents, presents the close relationship that connects these cards to Bologna. Tarot cards exert a remarkable attraction worldwide, for the art with which they have been and continue to be made, for their philosophical content, as well as their literary, psychological, and anthropological aspects. A cultural phenomenon that spread from Bologna to the world and for which there is a felt need for the world to know about.
