Among the major artists of the sixteenth century, Albrecht Dürer is considered the greatest exponent of German Renaissance painting.
In Venice the artist came into contact with Neoplatonic circles. It is presumed that such circles elevated his character towards esoteric aggregation. A classic example is the work entitled Melancholia I , created in 1514, in which there are evident hermetic symbols.
Among his works, those that can best represent the Major Arcana of the Tarot have been chosen.
