The meaning of this deck is to represent the great classics of literature, both contemporary and from the past. The aim of this project is to merge the profound elements of the chosen literary work with the symbolic meaning of a Tarot card. The idea is to resolve the division between image and word, through the combination of the elevated and mystical senses of both, so that the apparent diversity of their expressions is reconciled in the unity of meaning, in a new signum that follows Horace's equivalence: poetry is like painting. This value was in the past linked to the art of heraldry, where the celebratory image (called the body) was joined to a motto (called the soul), and together they gave life to another emblem... The project includes 4 decks, one for each continent. This deck was curated by Swati Prakash, with the collaboration of 22 artists, for Asia.

The theme of this deck series is great classics of literature, either contemporary or of the past. The goal of this project is to merge a recognizable element of literature to the traditional and symbolic meaning of a specific Tarot card image. This fusion comes from the esoteric value that in the distant past was connected to heraldry, whereas the image (called “the body”) was joined to a maxim or ‘motto’ (referred to as “the soul”), forming a commemorative “coat of arms”. The project includes 4 decks, one for each continent. This collaborative deck by 22 Asian artists was hosted by Swati Prakash.
